Sunday came and went, leaving us with a Girls finale that was both bittersweet and thought-provoking—all to be expected for the always surprising and sometimes confronting show. Over its six seasons, the HBO series brought us hysterical laughter, shock, and chagrined recognition, all mixed in with four young women we now know as well as we know ourselves. It's a uniquely recognizable blend we'll miss dearly. (Girls marathon, anyone?)

To commemorate the end of the show, here are 12 of the most Girls moments ever.

Hannah Is "a Voice of a Generation"

The line that launched 1,000 thinkpieces.

Jessa Gets Married to a Douchebag

Of course Jessa gets married on a whim to a man she hates, looking like a page out of the Free People catalog. Of course she does.

Hannah Bones Patrick Wilson

This was the first of several beautifully done bottle episodes, but (unfortunately) more notably, it also spawned peak Internet frenzy over Lena Dunham's body and its worthiness.

Marnie Sings "Stronger" at Charlie's Work Party

Is this the single most cringeworthy moment in six seasons of many? I don't know, because I blacked out from secondhand embarrassment watching it.

Hannah works at GQ

Hannah "quits" her first real job with a salary that inspired her to wear clothes that actually fit because it's beneath her very important level of artistic integrity. Yup, sounds about right.

Hannah and Elijah Do Coke

This episode contains some of the show's best moments in: a) wardrobe (Hannah's neon mesh tank top), b) one-liners ("It's a Wednesday night, baby, and I'm alive"), c) soundtracks (Icona Pop's "I Love It"), and d) chemistry (Hannah and Elijah forever, please).

Hannah and Adam Break Up, Part I

This is the most comical and least heartbreaking of Adam and Hannah's many breakups (the final one gutted me), but it captures the essence of their characters early in the relationship—Adam's wild intensity and Hannah's overdramatized victimization (she's "like, the most scared person who's alive")—and it ends with one of the most Girls scenes in Girls history: Hannah eating cake alone on the beach at dawn.
