13-year-old singer gets tweet from Josh Groban after epic 'AGT' performance
On Tuesday’s America’s Got Talent, 13-year-old Jeffrey Li from Canada wanted to sing the song that helps cheer him up when he gets the only-child blues. That song is “Raise Me Up,” by Josh Groban, and boy did Li sing it.
The crowd and judges loved it, but the biggest praise for Li’s performance came from Groban himself, who took to Twitter after the show aired:
Way to go, Jeffrey!! I’m honored! https://t.co/xpzCJeT7pF

But long before a shout out from Josh Groban was on the table, Li had a different prize in mind. He told Simon Cowell and the rest of the judges that he would love a companion — like a dog — if he were to win the show’s $1 million prize. Which led to a great promise from Cowell.
“If you do well, I’m gonna buy you a dog,” Cowell said.
And wouldn’t you know it, after the performance Li learned that Cowell is a man of his word.
“I’m gonna keep my promise,” Cowell said before sending Li offstage. “Not only have you got four yeses, you just got yourself a new dog.”
America’s Got Talent airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on NBC. Watch clips and full episodes of America’s Got Talent for free on Yahoo View.
