14 Samantha Moments From "Sex And The City" That Prove She's The One Who Deserved A Spinoff Series

Ever since it was revealed Sex and the City star Kim Cattrall would not be reprising her role as Samantha Jones in the And Just Like That... spinoff, fans were understandably disappointed.

She's kind of the best character.

Some fans have even called for a spinoff all about Samantha.

Here are some of the moments from Sex and the City that prove she's the GOAT and the one who should have her own show:

1.When she loves herself just the way she is.

Samantha on Sex and the City saying "I happen to love the way I look."

After her friends share the things they hate about their bodies, all eyes turn to Samantha, who refuses to play the game. She's happy with the way she looks, and while she isn't into plastic surgery at that point in time, she's open-minded enough to know that that might change in the future.

2.When she has a nude photoshoot just for her.

Samantha on Sex and the City saying "This is not about a man’s approval. This photo is just for me."

In fact, Samantha is so happy with the way she looks, she decides to commemorate it with a nude. She says she wants to be able to look back at her younger body when she's old and remember how hot she is, which, let's be honest, is genius (and not "narcissistic," Miranda).

Also, if Samantha did have a spinoff, I could totally see an episode about her posting the pic to Instagram and then there being a big uproar when it's taken down.

HBO

3.When she stands up for Charlotte about her stolen baby name.

Scene from Sex and the City of Charlotte telling Samantha their friend Laney stole her baby name and Samantha saying "You bitch!"

When Samantha finds out her and the other girls' old pal Laney plans to use Charlotte's secret baby name, she, without a hint of hesitation, turns to Laney and exclaims, "You bitch!" It's just one example of her unwavering loyalty to her friends.

HBO

4.When she refuses to judge Carrie for cheating on Aiden.

Scene from Sex and the City of Carrie saying "Don't you wanna judge me, just a little bit?" and Samantha saying "Not my style."

See? Loyal. (And just another reason why it makes no sense that Samantha would ditch Carrie just because she didn't want her as her publicist anymore.)

HBO

5.When she exacts her revenge on Richard for cheating on her.

Samantha on Sex and the City saying "This man said he loved me and I caught him eating another woman's pussy."

Of course, not judging Carrie for cheating doesn't mean she won't go full scorched earth on a man who dares cheat on her. Hypocritical? Yes. Iconic? Yes.

HBO

6.When she throws herself an "I Don't Have a Baby" shower.

Samantha on Sex and the City saying "I don't have a baby, everybody drink!"

An afternoon with Laney and her current and future mom friends serves as a reminder to Samantha of how happy she is not to have children, and she sees no reason not to celebrate it.

HBO

7.When she's open-minded about sexuality.

Samantha on Sex and the City saying "I think it’s great. He’s open to all sexual experiences. He’s evolved. It’s hot!"

Saying Samantha is a lot more enlightened about sexuality than her friends is...an understatement, to say the least. When Carrie goes out with a bisexual man, she, Miranda, and Charlotte reveal themselves to be anti-bi as all get out — Carrie even says bisexuality is just a "layover on the way to Gay Town" — while Samantha fully embraces it.

HBO

8.When she dates a woman.

Samantha and Maria on Sex and the City

Samantha doesn't just support the queer lifestyle — she's queer herself. Long before dating Maria, she refers to herself as a "try-sexual" (meaning she'll try anything once). Though Maria's the only woman we see Samantha with throughout the run of the series, a spinoff would be the perfect opportunity to see her jump into a more diverse dating pool.

HBO

9.When she calls out this double standard:

Samantha on Sex and the City saying "A guy gets angry in a meeting – he's a pistol. A woman? She's emotional."

Where's the lie??

HBO

10.And when she calls out Richard for this one:

Samantha on Sex and the City saying "If I was a guy, you would’ve shaken my hand, bought me a scotch, and given me a key to an office."

I really think Richard was added to the show to highlight how great Samantha is, because he truly sucks. He tells her the only reason he won't hire her is that she slept with his architect (who had no business telling Richard about that in the first place), and only changes his mind after he decides she has enough "balls" to deserve the job.

HBO

11.When she refuses to be slut-shamed.

Samantha on Sex and the City saying "I will not be judged by you or society. I will wear whatever and blow whomever I want as long as I can breathe — and kneel."

For someone who doesn't judge her friends and generally supports them, Samantha sure gets a lot of flak from them. After Carrie walks in on Samantha going down on a delivery guy, she tries to pretend she doesn't have a problem with it — it's just not something she would ever be caught dead doing. My takeaway from this whole ordeal is that Carrie needs to learn how to knock.

12.When she refuses to be age-shamed.

HBO

No, the dress isn't a little "young" for her — Miley Cyrus is just an old soul.

13.When she shared this T-shirt-worthy mantra.

Samantha on Sex and the City saying "If I worried what every bitch in New York was saying about me, I’d never leave the house."

I, for one, would love to see Samantha not giving a damn about what anyone thinks of her in the age of social media.

HBO

14.When she puts herself first even though it's not what she's "supposed" to do.

Samantha on Sex and the City saying "I'm gonna say the one thing you aren't supposed to say. I love you... but I love me more."

Samantha actually says this line twice: once to Richard, who she's been panicked will cheat on her again, and another to Smith, who, as much as she loves, just can't give her what she wants, and vice versa. Ultimately, she's not meant for a monogamous relationship, and that's fine!

Samantha not being tied down to one person means a spinoff would be full of dating hijinks, and I want to see them all.
