2 Harvey Weinstein Accusers Named to TWC Bankruptcy Court Committee for Creditors

A committee that includes two of Harvey Weinstein’s accusers as well as talent agency WME has been formed to represent creditors owed money by The Weinstein Company, according to a bankruptcy court document obtained by TheWrap.

The one-page document, filed Wednesday at a U.S. bankruptcy court in Delaware, shows that Weinstein’s former assistant Sandeep Rehal is a member of the committee, as is Louisette Geiss, who claimed Weinstein assaulted her at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival and who is part of a federal RICO class action lawsuit filed against Weinstein and TWC.

Joining the two accusers are attorneys for WME; Light Chaser Animation, the company who animated TWC’s last theatrical release, “Leap!”; and digital distibutor Cinedigm. Together, they will represent a 394-page list of unsecured creditors who combine for over $500 million owed. Top creditors include Union Bank and Bank of America who are owed $156 million.

TWC formally filed for bankruptcy last week, with Lantern Capital Partners agreeing to buy the company’s assets for $310 million and to keep the studio’s employees on as a “going concern.” The bankruptcy process is expected to be completed in mid-May.
