Emmys: The Bear, Succession and BEEF Are Night’s Big Winners

Emmys: The Bear, Succession and BEEF Are Night’s Big Winners

The 75th Primetime Emmy Awards were held on Monday night, in a ceremony hosted by Anthony Anderson (black-ish, We Are Family) and which aired on Fox, live from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.

Heading into the Hollywood strikes-delayed ceremony, HBO’s Succession had led the pack with 27 total nominations. In Monday night’s ceremony, the dysfunctional family drama’s farewell run scored six big wins, including for best drama and the two lead acting categories.

FX/Hulu’s The Bear, which was eligible for its first season, also picked up six wins on Monday night (out of seven total categories), including for best comedy, lead actor, and in both supporting acting categories.

And among the limited series/TV-movie contenders, Netflix’s BEEF — which has been pretty darn unbeatable this awards season — earned three big wins.

All told, The Bear was the winningest program at this year’s Emmys, racking up 10 total wins (including those picked up at the Creative Arts ceremonies). BEEF and HBO’s The Last of Us followed with eight total wins, while Succession amassed the aforementioned six.
