2024 August concert guide: Free outdoor concerts, festivals in Binghamton area
Looking to have some fun in the sun before school starts with music and food? Binghamton area residents have many options for community concerts and big ticket shows this month.
With a mix of musical genres, serious and casual concert fans will find something for them, whether it means packing in with the giant crowd at a festival or pulling up a lawn chair on a weeknight in their local park.
Here's who is hitting the stage in the Binghamton area in August.
Summer festivals for Binghamton music lovers
Spiedie Fest & Balloon Rally
This year's Spiedie Fest lineup will feature rising star Shaboozey, known for his song, "A Bar Song (Tipsy)," and work on Beyonce's "Cowboy Carter" album at 7 p.m. on Friday, followed by country singer Niko Moon at 8:30 p.m.
On Saturday there will be a performance by Chris Young and a meet and greet with professional wrestler Trish Stratus from 12-3 p.m.
The closing act for Sunday will be Justin Moore, known for his songs including "If Heaven Wasn't So Far Away," "Small Town USA" and "Lettin' the Night Roll." Moore replaces Mitchell Tenpenny, who Spiedie Fest organizers announced July 24 would not be performing. Binghamton Porchfest
Porchfest brings the Binghamton community together with music. Driveways and yards on the West Side of Binghamton will be lined with over 150 performances by local musicians.
This event is free to the public, and will be held from noon to 7 p.m. Aug. 25. For more information, visit binghamtonporchfest.com
New York State Fair
The Great New York State Fair is a 13-day festival filled with attractions, entertainment, food, rides and concerts. Open from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., Aug. 21 through Sept. 2, the fairgrounds will host a number of performances in Syracuse. The Chevrolet Music Series and Suburban Park will host three concerts a day, with sets starting at 1, 6 and 8 p.m.
Acts this year include NSYNC's Joey Fatone with Backstreet Boys' AJ McLean, TLC, Dropkick Murphys, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts and Flo Rida. Admission is included with the purchase of State Fair tickets. For more information visit nysfair.ny.gov, call 315-487-7711 or email [email protected]

Outdoor, community concerts in the Binghamton area
Bands and Brews Block Party
Outside the Visions Memorial Arena there will be a monthly block party in downtown Binghamton throughout the summer. The concert is free to the public. On Aug. 9, the series features 90s pop-rock band, Off the Wall.
Broome Bands Together
Broome County Department of Parks announced the lineup for the return of free community concerts every Tuesday at Osintingo Park from 6-8 p.m. through Aug. 27. Beer Tree Brew Co., Pinkies Barbeque, Downtown Danny’s, Here’s the Twist Ice Cream, and Pit Stop Popcorn will be on site. Visit gobroomecounty.com for more information about who will be performing.
Music at the Museum
On the lawn of Endicott Visitor Center Park, free concerts will be held throughout the summer every Wednesday at 6 p.m. Visit endicottny.com to find out who will be performing each Wednesday.
Owego Concerts in the Park
On Aug. 7 from 7-9 p.m. Hickories Park will hold its final free Wednesday concert of the summer, featuring local musicians. If the weather is questionable the concert will be moved to the Owego Elks Lodge.
Pack The Park Concerts
Pack the Park is a free event open to the public. Kirkwood Happenings hosts concerts through the summer on Thursdays at Veterans River Park from 6-8 p.m. Bring a blanket, chair or umbrella to this rain or shine event. Concerts will be held at Pavilion 1 & 2.
The Stage at Little Italy Summer Concerts
The return of the beloved The Stage at Little Italy summer concert series will run until late August. Throughout the summer months most concerts will start at 7 p.m. unless stated otherwise. For more information about the Little Italy concerts and the full schedule, visit endicottny.com
Vestal Summer Concerts
Bring the family out every Tuesday to enjoy free music, fun activities for the kids. Free concerts will be held at Vestal Memorial Park every Tuesday through Aug. 13 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Concerts are also held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays at Arnold Park featuring Vestal Community Band. Windsor Band Concerts
Free Friday concerts at Windsor Village Green at 6:30 p.m. will run through the end of August. Bring your chair or blanket and come out to enjoy some food and refreshments.
