2024 CMA Awards performers include Lainey Wilson, Post Malone, Chris Stapleton. Here's what to know

Among the first performances for 2024's 58th Annual CMA Awards, a series of soulful potential show-stoppers have been announced.

The event airs live from Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on No. 20 from 8-11 p.m. EST on ABC and is available the next day on Hulu.

Event co-host and reigning Country Music Association Entertainer of the Year Lainey Wilson will perform her country radio favored ballad "4x4xU," while as solo acts and in a duet, four-time nominated country newcomer Post Malone and 2024 Entertainer of the Year nominee Chris Stapleton will both perform their ballads "Yours" and "What Am I Gonna Do," respectively, plus pair for "California Sober," a duet from Malone's album "F-1 Trillion."

Also notable, performing together for the first time are two-time CMA Award winner Thomas Rhett and emerging pop-to-country crossover artist Teddy Swims for a mash-up of their hits "Somethin' 'Bout A Woman" and all-genre Hot 100 chart-topper "Lose Control."

Returning as the CMA Awards host for a fourth straight year, two-time CMA Entertainer of the Year Luke Bryan will perform his recent 31st No. 1 hit "Love You, Miss You, Mean It," As well, Shaboozey will perform his multi-platinum-selling smash "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" and new single "Highway," plus three-time CMA Award winner Dierks Bentley will be joined by Molly Tuttle, Sierra Hull and Bronwyn Keith-Hynes for a bluegrass-inspired take on Tom Petty's classic, "American Girl."

CMA Female Vocalist of the Year nominee Ashley McBryde will also deliver what a press statement calls a "very special" performance on the CMA Awards stage.

Top nominees at the 2024 CMA Awards

The 58th annual Country Music Association Awards will be hosted by Luke Bryan, Peyton Manning and Lainey Wilson.

Morgan Wallen and Wilson lead the field of nominees for the event.

Wallen's seven nominations include his duet with country newcomer Post Malone for "I Had Some Help," which has nominations for Single of the Year, Song of the Year, Musical Event of the Year and Music Video of the Year.

Entertainer of the Year will be contested between 2021 and 2022's winner, Luke Combs, 2023's winner, Wilson and first-time nominee Jelly Roll against Stapleton (the honor's most nominated non-winner, now at eight times) and three-time nominee Wallen.

Wilson, the breakout winner last year, follows up 2023 as the year's most nominated female artist with four bids, including her second nomination for Entertainer of the Year, third for Female Vocalist, a Single of the Year nod for "Watermelon Moonshine" and a Music Video of the Year nod for the Patrick Tracy-directed video for "Wildflowers and Wild Horses."

Also of note is that Megan Moroney and Kacey Musgraves each secured three nominations, while Shaboozey is nominated for Single of the Year and Best New Artist.
