2024 CMA Awards predictions: Official odds for tonight’s show
Hundreds of Gold Derby users have made their predictions in 10 categories at the 2024 Country Music Association Awards that will be held tonight, Nov. 20, at 8:00pm Eastern live on ABC. Those predictions have been combined to generate our official racetrack odds. Scroll down to see those odds with our projected winners highlighted in gold.
Prepare to hear Morgan Wallen‘s name called out multiple times tonight — four times, to be exact. That’s how many victories we’re currently predicting for the oft controversial country star. He’s the favorite for Entertainer of the Year. Then he’s expected to prevail three times for “I Had Some Help,” his chart-topping collaboration with Post Malone: Single of the Year, Musical Event of the Year, and Music Video of the Year. If we’re right, this would be Wallen’s biggest year at the CMA Awards by far. His only previous victory from the association was New Artist of the Year in 2020.
More from GoldDerby
Besides Wallen and Malone, the only artist we’re predicting for multiple victories is Chris Stapleton, who’s the favorite for Album of the Year (“Higher”) and Song of the Year (“White Horse”). Elsewhere, reigning Entertainer of the Year Lainey Wilson is expected to prevail in the Female Vocalist of the Year race for the third year in a row. Jelly Roll gets best odds for Male Vocalist of the Year, which would be his first victory in that race. Brothers Osborne are favored for Vocal Duo of the Year; they have won that award six times before including the last three years in a row. And Old Dominion are tipped to continue their winning streak in Vocal Group of the Year, winning that prize for the seventh time.
