When are the 2024 Country Music Association Awards? Possible nominations, 2023 CMA review
The Country Music Association's 58th CMA Awards event will air live from Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on Nov. 20, 2024, at 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. CT on ABC and the next day on Hulu.
Nominations for awards presented at the event will be revealed on Sept. 9, 2024, at 7:00 a.m. CT.
2024 will be notable as in the voting cycle for the 58th CMA Awards (between July 1, 2023 and June 30, 2024), country acts Jason Aldean, Oliver Anthony Music, Beyoncé, Zach Bryan, Brenda Lee, Post Malone, Kacey Musgraves, Shaboozey and Morgan Wallen have emerged as all-genre Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping performers.
Couple this with Chayce Beckham, Kane Brown, Kenny Chesney, Luke Combs, Jordan Davis, HARDY, Tyler Hubbard, Sam Hunt, Jelly Roll, Cody Johnson, Parker McCollum, Thomas Rhett, Dylan Scott, Nate Smith, Lainey Wilson, Warren Zeiders and Bailey Zimmerman achieving success on country radio in the same time frame.
The unprecedentedly diverse windfall of over two dozen renowned and successful names presents a wide-open field for 2024.
2023, a review
In 2023, Lainey Wilson took home five trophies, including the coveted Entertainer of the Year. It was the first time a female earned that title since Taylor Swift won it in 2011. Also, Nashville native Jelly Roll won five awards, including Male Vocalist and New Artist of the Year.
Wilson topped 2023's nomination list with nine, while first-time nominee Jelly Roll ran the table with as many award wins as nominations.
Luke Combs and HARDY (four nominations), plus Davis, Ashley McBryde, producer/mix engineer Joey Moi, songwriter/producer Jordan Schmidt, Chris Stapleton, Wallen and musician/producer Derek Wells (three nominations) also topped the list of most-nominated artists.
The night's pinnacle prize, Entertainer of the Year, saw Combs, Stapleton, Wallen and Wilson in competition against Carrie Underwood.
