'24 Hours to Live' trailer: Ethan Hawke gets in on the 'John Wick' action (exclusive)
Ever heard of living on borrowed time? That’s the predicament Ethan Hawke confronts in 24 Hours to Live, the new action film from the producers behind the John Wick franchise. The life-and-death stakes of the movie — which opens in theaters on Dec. 1 — are clearly established in its red-band trailer, premiering exclusively today on Yahoo Entertainment. (Watch above.)
Making a rare foray into rock ’em, sock ’em action territory, Hawke plays a CIA agent who sacrifices everything for his employers, including his family and, ultimately, his own life. No sooner has he shuffled off this mortal coil, though, than he finds himself mysteriously resurrected for one last mission that’s timed to last exactly 24 hours. Once the countdown clock embedded in his arm reaches zero, he’ll once again nod off into an eternal slumber if he hasn’t completed his task.
Before that happens, expect him to wreak bloody havoc on both his targets and his former CIA minders. Much like the John Wick films, 24 Hours to Live is helmed by a stuntman-turned-director, in this case Brian Smrz, who has worked on such diverse features as Batman Returns, Men in Black, and Live Free or Die Hard. You can bet that Hawke will cause a lot of bad guys to die … hard, in the course of his final 24 hours on Earth.
24 Hours to Live blasts onto Ultra VOD on Nov. 3 and in theaters on Dec. 1.
