Memento (2000)
Memento (2000) Trailer #1 | Movieclips Classic Trailers
Christopher Nolan has been in the news this week after casting Tom Holland in one of the lead roles in his next film. Like all of Nolan’s films, it is clouded in secrecy. Even if we had any details, most people would still have trouble understanding the plot. Take Memento, for example. If you read the plot details for the first time, could you explain it to someone else? My guess is no.
Thankfully, you can sit back and enjoy the film without dictating every plot point. In Memento, Guy Pearce stars as Leonard, who is searching for the person who killed his wife. Unfortunately for Leonard, he suffers from a severe case of short-term memory loss. To help with his memory loss, Leonard uses tattoos, photographs, and notes to help him remember his findings. Leonard is an unreliable narrator who blurs the line between truth and fiction. Can you trust Leonard’s story if he’ll forget about it 15 minutes later?

Spider-Man 3 (2007)
With Venom: The Last Dance in theaters, let’s revisit the character’s first appearance in a live-action film, which came in Spider-Man 3, the weakest entry in Sam Raimi’s trilogy. There are just too many villains and subplots. However, Raimi knows Spider-Man inside and out, and several exciting action scenes save this much-maligned film.
A year after Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) struggles to balance his life as Spider-Man and his relationship with Mary Jane Watson (Civil War‘s Kirsten Dunst). Peter faces battles on three fronts. The first is with Eddie Brock (Topher Grace), a snobby photographer who becomes Peter’s rival at the Daily Bugle. The second conflict comes from Flint Marko (Thomas Haden Church), who becomes the Sandman after a freak accident. The final challenge is a new symbiote that colors Peter’s suit black and makes him more aggressive.

Catch Me If You Can (2002)
Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hanks, and Steven Spielberg combined their talents for Catch Me If You Can, a stylish crime movie based on con artist Frank Abagnale Jr. After running away as a teenager, Frank (DiCaprio) becomes a scam artist to raise money. Frank is a brilliant liar — he impersonates a lawyer, co-pilot, and doctor without getting caught.
As Frank steals more money, his profile catches the attention of U.S. FBI Agent Carl Hanratty (Hanks), a crabby investigator who will stop at nothing to end the schemes. Unfortunately, the real Frank embellished much of this story. Don’t let his lies take away from this irresistible dramedy, which features DiCaprio’s charm, Hanks’ determination, and Spielberg’s genius.
