3 New Twists Coming to 'Claim to Fame' for Season 3
Claim to Fame is returning to our TVs in just a few short weeks (on July 10 to be exact) and the season is already shaping up to be exciting. Parade shared a first look at the new cast and the clue wall earlier this week, and more news will be rolling out as we approach the premiere.
Claim to Fame was the surprise reality TV hit of the summer when it aired its first season back in 2022 and became an even more viral phenomenon last year when Tom Hanks' niece had a full meltdown in the premiere. The ABC competition series puts the relatives of a dozen celebrities in a Hollywood mansion together with one directive: keep those relatives' identities a secret. Each week through competitions and clues, the players work to uncover the secrets their fellow players are hiding, with every episode ending in a dramatic reveal and elimination. The last player to keep their relative a secret earns $100,000 and their own "claim to fame."
Ahead of Season 3 TV Insider chatted with the show's hosts Kevin and Franklin Jonas as well as executive producer Eric Detwiler about what's to changes for Season 3. Here's what we learned about the Season 3 twists.
Claim to Fame Season 3 Twists
1. Casting Shakeups
A huge key to the show's success is it's genius casting. The producers in seasons past have managed to find relatives of A-list celebs like Dolly Parton and Eddie Murphy while also finding those close to historical figures like Al Sharpton and Jimmy Carter. Detwiler teased some exciting casting news in the TV Insider piece. "When the initial casting options started coming in, we found that there were some interesting uncovered connections between potential contestants that we really wanted to take advantage of,” he said. “This is going to cause some mind-bending confusion and then some pretty epic reveals based on who these people are and where they come from.” Here's to hoping we get a Parent Trap-style secret twins reveal on the show.

2. The Clue Wall
We've already got our first look at the Season 3 Clue Wall, an entity full of clues (and red herrings) that has traditionally hung in the house for the contestants to spend hours pondering. However, in Season 3, their access will be limited. “[Players] hone in on that space because they know there’s so much power and information to be gleaned from the clues that are there," said Detwiler. But this season, they're going to need more than just the wall. "We really wanted to encourage them to look elsewhere," he continued, "Away from the Clue Wall for other information—specifically with their fellow players.”

3. The End Game
In the first two seasons of Claim to Fame, the player in the final three that wins the last challenge has SO MUCH POWER going into the finale. And in both seasons, the final challenge winner has won the game. "The ending is a little different," Kevin Jonas teased. "If you win the last challenge, it does not mean that you are in full control. So, it's going to be a little bit more problematic at the end. The friends you made along the way—or enemies—will matter." This is certainly a welcome refresh to the end game, and one I can't wait to watch later this summer.
