50 Cent Claims JAY-Z’s Roc Nation Tried To Block Him From Super Bowl Performance
50 Cent claims that JAY-Z’s Roc Nation didn’t necessarily want him performing at the 2022 Super Bowl. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Fif opened up about his experience preparing for the biggest night in sports and how he found himself on the Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show stage. The show starred Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and Kendrick Lamar as headliners but somehow left out 50 in the marketing—which Fif alleged was intentional.
“[Roc Nation] wanted to leave me out of it. They didn’t want me there,” the Queens emcee claims. “[But] Eminem wouldn’t do it without me. That’s how I ended up on the show because he was not coming if I didn’t do it. When that happens, you go, ‘Damn, so you just lost Eminem because you didn’t bring 50? Damn. All right. Bring 50 then.'”
“But if it was up to them, they would not have me there—I’m the surprise. I’m not on the bill at all. But they couldn’t get Em to do it without me.”
But JAY-Z wasn’t the only Carter that received a jab from 50 Cent. Beyoncé was included in the rapper’s crosshairs as he offered his opinion on the Grammys. Curtis, who won a golden gramophone in 2010 for Best Rap Performance By A Duo Or Group for “Crack a Bottle” with Eminem and Dr. Dre, insisted that he doesn’t care about the award. He then went on to imply that Bey, winner of 32 Grammys, has an inside -person on the committee who is helping her win.
“I don’t care about them. They don’t mean anything. It’s an acknowledgment of the success of the project, and the excitement is to be in the room with your peers. Other than that, what is the acknowledgment? It doesn’t mean anything. I haven’t even seen anyone in a bad financial space where they would sell their Grammys. Then it would mean something that you received this award. It has zero value,” he added.
“I don’t know who’s voting in that sh*t. It’s crazy. Whoever they are, they’re off at Beyoncé’s house because she has 30 of them.”
This isn’t the first time that the Get Rich or Die Tryin’ rapper has jabbed at JAY-Z recently. Amid Diddy’s sex trafficking allegations, Fif took a moment to throw dirt on Hov’s name, claiming that the emcee was “in hiding” over the commotion going on with his billionaire brother.
“Jay in hibernation he ain’t coming outside till this sh*t with Puff blow over,” he typed on Instagram in May. “No brunch, no lunch, No dinner. LOL IM ALL YOU GOT IM OUTSIDE!”
