50 Cent Explains Why He Declined $3M Offer To Perform At Trump’s NYC Campaign Rally
50 Cent says that he was offered millions to perform at Donald Trump’s recent campaign rally in New York City this past weekend.
On Tuesday (Oct. 29), during an appearance on The Breakfast Club, 50 confirmed that Donald Trump has attempted to court his endorsement on numerous occasions.
According to Fif, Trump most recently sought out his services ahead of his campaign rally at Madison Square Garden, as the former President allegedly contacted the rapper in hopes he would perform at the event.
“Yeah. They offered me $3 million!” the G-Unit leader said while discussing being recruited by Trump and the Republican party. While he says he was also asked to perform at the Republican National Convention this past July, 50 reveals he barely considered both offers, despite each promising a hefty payday for his presence.
“I didn’t even go far,” he said of the conversations concerning him taking the stage at either event, adding his preference to distance himself from matters involving politics or religion.
“I’m afraid of politics, you understand? I do not like it. … It’s because when you do get involved in it, no matter how you feel, somebody passionately disagrees with you,” the 49-year-old explained.
“Look, if you say ‘I stay away from religion,’ I stay away from politics. Religion, that’s the formula for the confusion that it sent Kanye to Japan. He said something about both of those things and now he can only go to Japan. I don’t want to get in that, man.”
This isn’t the first time Trump has expressed his fandom of 50 Cent, or the rapper’s music has been associated with his ongoing campaign for presidency of the United States. Earlier this year, Trump used Fif’s 2003 track “Many Men” as his entrance music for a livestream with Adin Ross, a nod to the assassination attempt the mogul-turned-politician escaped during a campaign stop in July.
