50 Cent Replaces Chris Brown On Dreamville Festival Lineup, Sparks Mixed Reactions
Dreamville Festival 2024 is officially going down this weekend (April 6-7), and the lineup has just received a big change. For this year’s iteration, the team initially tapped SZA and Chris Brown to headline Day 1, but the latter has now been replaced by 50 Cent. Nicki Minaj is still set take the main stage alongside J. Cole for Day 2.
The fest’s official social media accounts revealed the updated flyer and shared the news on Monday (April 1), writing, “We are excited to share that 50 Cent and Hunxho have been added to the lineup! See you this weekend! Due to unforeseen circumstances, Chris Brown and Muni Long are no longer performing at Dreamville Fest.”
Other acts on the bill include Lil Yachty, ScHoolboy Q, Sexyy Red, Jeremih, Teezo Touchdown, Amaarae, Luh Tyler, and Domani, Rema, Jeezy, Monica, Rae Sremmurd, Key Glock, TiaCorine, and Chase Shaku. Of course, the rest of the Dreamville roster — J.I.D, Cozz, Omen, EarthGang, and Lute — are on the lineup as well. Ari Lennox is not listed on the flyer.

The announcement sparked mixed reactions, as fans were disappointed that they weren’t going to see Breezy, but excited that the legendary NYC spitter was added to the festivities. “So let me get this right. No Ari Lennox, No Chris Brown, No Muni Long. Yall replace our R&B headliner with a rapper?” one of the top Instagram comments read. A plethora of users refused to believe the news, claiming the ordeal is simply an April Fool’s joke.
“So you telling me, Curtis was your LAST resort?” another person wrote.
One user embraced the change in a positive light, joking, “Not y’all complaining about Chris Brown performing and now he can’t come y’all still complaining? Anyways … 50 Cent we cominggg.” Another commenter chimed in, “THEY SAY THIS IS A BIG RICH TOWN,” referencing 50’s beloved Power series theme song.
Staying true to its roots, the fest will take place in Raleigh, N.C., on April 6 and April 7. A limited number of two-day GA tickets are on sale now at www.DreamvilleFest.com, with a portion of proceeds being donated to the festival’s official charity partners, the Dreamville Foundation and Dorothea Dix Park Conservancy.
Cole World and the “Barbie Dreams” spitter headlining Day 2 together is a nod to their most recent collaboration, “Let Me Calm Down.” The track debuted on Nicki’s Pink Friday 2 on Dec. 8, 2023, and leading up to the festival announcement, Minaj also released an official extended version of the record.
