50 Cent Says He’s Spent $24 Million On Legal Fees So Far

With great success comes great responsibility — and legal fees. 50 Cent recently stopped by the Million Dollaz Worth Of Game podcast where he delved into his career, pop culture opinions, and finances. During the conversation, he revealed he has spent over $20 million on legal fees alone throughout his journey to the top.

“I’ve spent $24 million in my career, so far. I can’t wait ’till I get rich,” the Queens rapper joked. “Just on lawyers. I’ve spent $24 million in my career on legal fees.” 50 added that when things go left, he has his legal team on speed dial. “When they agitate me, I’ll send the f**king lawyers,” he stated.

The Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ creator then broke down some details about his business structure, explaining why he chooses to have legal representation at all times but doesn’t need a management team.

“I have general counsel. I don’t have a manager,” he continued. “Why do I need you to manage me for? I’ve done every deal a 100 f**king times that I would be doing for me as a music artist. Why do I need you to do that for? They all want to work at a percentage and you want a percentage of me? You didn’t build this — I built it.”

Speaking of money, the “Many Men” rapper also spoke about his $1 million deal with Shady Records and the responses he heard from people in the industry. He revealed during the interview that the one person who wasn’t hyping up his contract was Dame Dash, who downplayed the total said the amount was “no money.”

“The only person that pointed out a million dollars was no money was Damon Dash, and he has no money now,” Fif said about the Roc-A-Fella co-founder. “How you gonna say that’s no money?” He explained Dame’s reasoning at the time, going into his impression of the record executive. “’After you get you a watch, chain, look out for the homies and then do this, then it’s nothing.’”

Fif provided context about why Dame’s response hit him a certain way. “I’m from 134th Street. A million dollars is a lot of money. I think I hit the lotto. How are you gonna say that it’s no money? I just never forgot that because of how it felt,” he added. Watch the full interview above.
