50 Cent is moving forward with his docuseries on Sean “Diddy” Combs and the multiple assault and abuse allegations leveled against him, as well as his recent arrest in New York City.

In a statement to Variety, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and director Alexandria Stapleton emphasize that the Netflix doc will examine the “human impact” of Puff’s downfall and the complexities of the allegations against the mogul while clarifying that Diddy’s current woes are not a reflection of Hip-Hop culture as a whole.

“This is a story with significant human impact. It is a complex narrative spanning decades, not just the headlines or clips seen so far,” 50 Cent and Stapleton said in a statement. “We remain steadfast in our commitment to give a voice to the voiceless and to present authentic and nuanced perspectives. While the allegations are disturbing, we urge all to remember that Sean Combs’ story is not the full story of hip-hop and its culture. We aim to ensure that individual actions do not overshadow the culture’s broader contributions.”

50 Cent first announced the docuseries back in December 2023, one month after Cassie Ventura filed a lawsuit against Combs citing physical and sexual abuse. Tentatively titled Diddy Do It?, Netflix won the bidding war for the documentary in May 2024.
