On “Road Less Traveled,” Alaina urges listeners to live authentically and don’t hold back from being your true self. It’s a song that came to be in response to Alaina’s struggle with an eating disorder, and serves as an anthem for people going through similar struggles. 

At first I was really scared and didn’t know what to say, but it makes me really proud that I spoke out now, because there are way more people than I thought going through that,” she told The Boot of being open about her struggles and responding to others who approach her with their own. “I thought I was super alone when I was dealing with that, and that’s not the case.”

5. “Getting Good” (2020)

These all too relatable lyrics describe the common experience we all go through, in which we believe that once something we’ve been wishing for happens for us, then we’ll truly be happy. However, as we know, that’s never how it really goes, creating an endless cycle. At the end of the song, Alaina has the realization that, “...Once I learn to soak up every moment/I'll realize my life's already good.”

4. “Same Day, Different Bottle” (2017)

An emotional track, on “Same Day, Different Bottle,” Alaina begs someone suffering from addiction to quit drinking, a song inspired by her own father’s battle with alcoholism.

3. “The Other Side” (2020)

A tough song to listen to without crying, “The Other Side” was written in honor of Alaina’s stepfather who passed away. Despite the emotional subject matter, the chorus is hopeful, in which he encourages her that they’ll meet again on the other side.

2. “Eighteen Inches” (2011)
