1. The Wizard of Oz
“There’s no place like home!” And there is definitely no movie like The Wizard of Oz, the 1939 classic. Starring Judy Garland as Dorothy Gale, it remains one of the most highly regarded films of the 1900s, enhanced by its use of color, a technique which was very new at the time of its release.
The story follows Dorothy and her dog, Toto, who are transported to a magical land after a tornado rips through her Kansas home. Following the yellow brick road in hope of finding a way to return to her loved ones, Dorothy meets three friends along the way: Scarecrow, the Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion.
