All 177 episodes of the medical drama are now streaming.
The doctor is in.
Fans of the beloved medical drama House can stream all 8 seasons of the show on Hulu starting today.
The show, starring Hugh Laurie as Dr. Gregory House, ran for 177 episodes on Fox. Other cast members rounding out the show's impressive ensemble include Lisa Edelstein, Omar Epps, Jesse Spencer, Robert Sean Leonard, Jennifer Morrison, Peter Jacobson, Kal Penn, and Olivia Wilde. The show takes place in the fictitious Princeton–Plainsboro Teaching Hospital in New Jersey, and ran from 2004 to 2012.
Unlike other medical dramas of its era, House set itself apart by framing its cases as mysteries and its central physician as a detective, eschewing much of the melodrama that characterizes its contemporaries. Dr. House's gruff, standoffish demeanor rarely makes him a favorite of his peers, but his undeniable medical brilliance endears him to both his patients and the show's dedicated audience.
The titular doctor's antisocial tendencies, drug addiction, and eccentric behavior were loosely inspired by Sherlock Holmes, of whom series creator David Shore is a huge fan. Shore went on to create Sneaky Pete and The Good Doctor.
The show won five Primetime Emmys during its run, and Laurie received six nominations for his portrayal of Dr. House.
The show also inspired a short-lived digital spinoff, Nurse Jeffrey, which focused on Patrick Price's Jeffrey Sparkman. The show debuted as part of a House app for iOS devices.
