8 things to do: Van Halen, Billy Joel tributes, Eddie McClintock movie and Jurassic Quest

Here are eight things to do this weekend in Stark County.

1. George Michael tribute rescheduled

A nationally touring George Michael tribute artist has canceled his performance this weekend and rescheduled it for 7 p.m. on Nov. 23 at the Canton Palace Theatre.

The event has been canceled due to unforeseen circumstances, the Palace Theatre announced. Ticket buyers will be notified, and their current tickets will be valid for the new date.

"George Michael Reborn: A Tribute to George Michael & WHAM! starring Robert Bartko" will impersonate Michael both vocally and with dance moves, as well as wardrobe. Songs will include "Careless Whisper," "Faith," "Everything She Wants," "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" and "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me."

2. Might as well jump ... for Van Halen tribute

A popular Van Halen tribute band will perform Saturday night at Nash Family Jackson Amphitheater.

With a Facebook following of more than 55,000, "Jump: America's Ultimate Van Halen Experience" will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. The band will play songs from the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame band's David Lee Roth era.

The band is impersonated with '80s fashion, fiery guitar solos and the showmanship of frontman Roth.

Songs will include "Jump," "Panama," "Hot for Teacher," "Everybody Wants Some!!," "Unchained," "Beautiful Girls" and "Dance the Night Away."

Tickets, $10 general admission and $20 closer to the stage, can be purchased through the venue at https://www.jacksonamphitheater.com/ and at https://www.eventbrite.com/. Gates open at 6 p.m.

Jackson Township's amphitheater is at 7454 Community Parkway NW across from Jackson High School.

Parking is free. Concerts end around 10 p.m. Alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. Food trucks also will be on site. Attendees should bring blankets or chairs. Outside food and beverages are prohibited.

Jurassic Quest, a dinosaur-themed experience, will be visiting the Canton Memorial Civic Center this weekend.

3. Dinosaur family fun coming to Canton

The interactive dinosaur-themed experience Jurassic Quest is coming to Canton Memorial Civic Center this weekend.

Since 2013, Jurassic Quest has entertained more than 10 million people in more than 250 cities across the United States and Canada.

Hours are noon to 6 p.m. Friday; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday; and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Timed tickets, at $22 to $36, can be purchased at https://www.jurassicquest.com.

"Takedown," a movie about the life of North Canton native Eddie McClintock, will premiere Sunday at Canton Palace Theatre. Tickets to the film, written and directed by McClintock, cost $10 and are general admission.

4. Eddie McClintock movie debuting in Canton

"Takedown," a movie about Stark County native Eddie McClintock's life, will premiere 3 p.m. Sunday at the Canton Palace Theatre.

"Takedown" was written and directed by McClintock, a 1985 graduate of Hoover High School. He also appears in the film.

The movie is part of JCFilms, which releases family and faith movies, including others featuring McClintock, who starred in the hit SyFy Channel series “Warehouse 13,” which ran from 2009 through 2014.

McClintock's other film and television credits include "The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers" and USA Network's conspiracy thriller "Shooter," as well as appearing in two episodes of "Friends" and a slew of other shows, including "Bones," "Sex and the City," "Stark Raving Mad," "Bones" and "Felicity."

"Takedown" is based on McClintock's high school years, including wrestling, his passion for the arts, and the troubles he encountered as a teen. The film has a theme of overcoming adversity.

The movie is 75 minutes long and suitable for ages 10 and older.

5. Billy Joel tribute in Massillon

A Billy Joel tribute artist will perform Saturday at Lions Lincoln Theatre in downtown Massillon.

"We May Be Right ? A tribute to the music of Billy Joel" will play both hit songs and deep cuts spanning the legendary musical artist's career.

6. Yankee Peddler Festival concludes this weekend

There's one more weekend left for the annual Yankee Peddler Festival at Clay's Resort Jellystone Park.

The event will be 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Yankee Peddler is a pioneer-themed event featuring arts and crafts, as well as colonial-style food cooked over open fires. Entertainment includes bagpipe players, puppet shows and live music.

7. Tribute show to '50s, '60s and '70s rock

Stardust Dinner Theatre will present a "Rock & Roll Cabaret" tribute Saturday featuring the music of the '50s, '60s and '70s.

Tickets cost $45 for the dinner and show at La Pizzaria, 3656 Dressler Road NW in Jackson Township. VIP seating costs $55. A cash bar will be available.

Cleveland Browns fans will gather at 1 p.m. Sunday at Centennial Plaza in downtown Canton to watch the NFL team take on the New York Giants.

8. Cheer on the Browns in downtown Canton

Fans can root for the Cleveland Browns Sunday at Centennial Plaza in downtown Canton as the team goes for its second victory of the season.

The Browns will be facing the New York Giants at 1 p.m. in Cleveland.

The game will be shown on the large video screen at Centennial Plaza in downtown Canton at 330 Court Ave. NW along Market Avenue N.
