‘911: Lone Star’ Ending With Season 5 on Fox
The forthcoming season of 911: Lone Star will be its last at Fox.
The series, a Texas-set spinoff of 911 (which now airs on ABC after moving from Fox last season), is set to begin its fifth season on Sept. 23. The show took the 2023-24 season off following last year’s labor strikes, and speculation that the coming season would mark the end of its Fox run has been widespread.

Season five will run for 12 episodes, with a series finale airing early next year.
“From the start, fans have followed the heroic and deeply moving stories of the men and women who make up Austin’s 126, so a huge thanks to one of the greatest creative teams in all of television — Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear — for creating one of the most action-packed dramas anywhere.” said Fox Television Network president Michael Thorn in a statement. “Now in our final season of the show, we’re set to give it the high-stakes send-off it deserves, complete with breathless rescues, insurmountable odds and relatable personal struggles, thanks to our incomparable, stellar cast led by Rob Lowe and Gina Torres.”
911: Lone Star premiered in January 2020 and has been a very solid performer for Fox over its four seasons to date. It ranked behind only its parent show, 911, among Fox dramas in both total viewers and adults 18-49 and finished among the top 10 drama series on all broadcast networks in the 18-49 demographic for each of its seasons. In 2022-23, the series averaged 9.6 million multi-platform viewers, including streaming on Hulu and Fox’s digital outlets.
In addition to Lowe and Torres, the series stars Ronen Rubinstein, Jim Parrack, Natacha Karam, Brian Michael Smith, Julian Works, Rafael Silva, Brianna Baker and Jackson Pace.
Murphy, Falchuk and Minear created the series, which comes from 20th Television. They executive produce with Bradley Buecker, Rashad Raisani, John J. Gray, 911 star Angela Bassett, Lowe, Carly Soteras and Wolfe Coleman.
