Abbott Elementary Meets It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia — See Full Crossover Cast Photo
Two Philly-set comedies are coming together for a special episode: Abbott Elementary will host a crossover with It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
Rob McElhenney, star and co-creator of the long-running FXX sitcom, revealed the news on X back on Oct. 3, sharing several photos of himself and co-stars Charlie Day (aka Charlie Kelly) and Danny DeVito (Frank Reynolds) with Abbott Elementary star/creator Quinta Brunson and cast members William Stanford Davis (Mr. Johnson) and Tyler James Williams (Gregory Eddie). The group are seen standing in front of the Willard R. Abbott Elementary School set on the Warner Bros. Studio lot in Los Angeles.

UPDATE: On Oct. 17, McElhenney shared a photo of the full crossover cast, seen above.
Talk of a crossover first started at San Diego Comic-Con this past July, where Brunson teased the event during the ABC comedy’s panel. When TVLine asked Brunson about the crossover during our Fall Preview Q&A, she would only say, “I am just pumped about it. It’s a really cool thing.”
It’s Always Sunny follows a group of friends who run an Irish dive bar in South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, while Abbott centers around the teachers and administrators at a Philly public school. While Abbott and It’s Always Sunny are produced by different studios — Warner Bros. TV and FX Productions, respectively — they both air on Disney-owned networks, ABC and FXX.
Are you as pumped as Brunson about this unique crossover? Hit the comments with your thoughts!
