Jelly Roll at the 2023 ACM Awards

The stars will shine on Texas once again as a who's who of country music heads to Frisco for the 59th ACM Awards aka "country music’s party of the year."

Luke Combs came out on top with a staggering eight nominations, including his fifth consecutive nod for Entertainer of the Year, a race he's yet to win.

But this could be his year. Combs' chart-topping cover of Tracey Chapman's “Fast Car” is on a roll collecting a history-making CMA Song of the Year win for Chapman last fall.

Combs is followed by Megan Moroney and Morgan Wallen with six nominations each and Cody Johnson, Chris Stapleton and Lainey Wilson with five each.

Inspirational former juvenile delinquent Jelly Roll, who shouted out kids in Juvenile Detention in his heartfelt CMT Awards acceptance speech is up for four awards. His nomination for Entertainer of the Year puts him in an elite group of first-time nominees who are nominated for the biggest award of the night. Billy Ray Cyrus was the last artist to accomplish this feat back in 1992, the same year he gained fame for his smash hit “Achy Breaky Heart.” He lost to Garth Brooks and we suspect Jelly may lose to Combs. But, as they say, it's an honor to be nominated.
