Actor Kevin James hangs out, eats wings in Oak Island
If you had Southport and Oak Island on your 2021 bingo card as being hot spots for movie star sightings, well congratulations.
The actor Kevin James, known for starring in the long running CBS sitcom "King of Queens" and in such movie comedies as "Paul Blart: Mall Cop," was seen eating at Oak Island restaurant Shagger Jacks on Monday night.
This comes after the actor and director Mel Gibson caused a stir in Southport earlier this month after working out at a Southport gym and eating in several of the Brunswick County town's restaurants. Both actors are here working on a movie titled "Boys of Summer."

James took some pictures with several employees of Shagger Jacks, which posted them to its Facebook page.
"He came in with three buddies," said Blake Conklin, who's owned Shagger Jacks, an Oak Island hotspot, for 12 years. "People were oogling and ogling him."
Conklin wasn't at the restaurant on Monday, but his staff called to let him know they had a famous visitor. James stayed for about an hour.
"I asked them, 'What did he eat?'" Conklin said. "They said, 'Wings.' He said they were the best wings he'd ever had."
"Boys of Summer" is a supernatural thriller set on Massachusetts island Martha's Vineyard. It's about a boy, played by Mason Thames, who thinks some sort of supernatural creature might be hunting children in the area.
Thames also stars in upcoming Wilmington-shot horror film "The Black Phone," which was due out in January, but on Thursday was pushed back to a summer release.
In "Boys of Summer," Gibson plays an aging detective who helps Thames' character. It's not clear what roles James plays. The movie also features the actor Patrick Renna, best-known for his line in the movie "The Sandlot": "You're killin' me, Smalls."
"Boys of Summer" is being directed by the actor David Henrie, and was written by Bryan Schulz and Cornelius Uliano, who co-wrote "The Peanuts Movie."
