Actor Kevin James to play Arkansas native John Daly in limited series

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — “King of Queens” star Kevin James is set to play golfing icon and Arkansas native John Daly in an upcoming limited series, according to a report from Deadline.

John Daly: From ninth alternate to PGA Champion

The report says the show will be developed by Village Roadshow and will see Gary Valentine, Rory Rosegarten, and David Spielgelman as executive producers.

Daly won the PGA Championship in 1991 and the Open Championship in 1995. He played in the Masters 12 times from 1992-2006, tying for third in 1993. He was inducted into the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame in 2006.

Daly attended the University of Arkansas for three years before turning pro in 1987.

Along with starring in the hit television sitcom, King of Queens, James is a frequent star in Adam Sandler’s Happy Madison productions like “I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry,” “Grown Ups,” and “Paul Blart Mall Cop.”
