Actor Michael Madsen arrested on domestic battery charge

Actor Michael Madsen was arrested over the weekend and charged with domestic battery in Southern California.

Police said Madsen, 66, pushed his wife, DeAnna Madsen, and locked her out of their home in Malibu, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies arrived at the residence around 1:15 a.m. Saturday and booked Madsen at 1:40 a.m., according to online records. Madsen was released about eight hours later after posting $20,000 bail.

“It was a disagreement between Michael and his wife, which we hope resolves positively for them both,” a Madsen rep told Variety. Cops have not provided any information on what led to the alleged physical violence.

The Madsens have been married since 1996. DeAnna is Madsen’s third wife; he was previously married to “General Hospital” actress Georganne LaPiere from 1984 to 1988 and actress and producer Jeannine Bisignano Jeannine Bisignano from 1991 to 1995.

Madsen has run into trouble with the law before, including a 2012 incident in which he was charged with felony child endangerment. At the time, an attorney for Madsen said the actor had found his son smoking marijuana and the two argued over it.

Additionally, Madsen has twice been arrested for driving under the influence in Los Angeles County and was also charged with trespassing in 2022, shortly after his son Hudson died by suicide.

As an actor, Madsen is best known for his work in films directed by Quentin Tarantino, including “Reservoir Dogs,” both “Kill Bill” films and “The Hateful Eight.” Additionally, he starred in “Thelma & Louise” and “Donnie Brasco” and appeared in the James Bond film “Die Another Day.”
