Actor, singer Jordan Fisher to perform national anthem at 2022 Indy 500
Jordan Fisher, an actor, singer and musician, will perform "The Star-Spangled Banner" prior to the start of the 106th running of the Indianapolis 500 on May 29, Indianapolis Motor Speedway announced Thursday.
He's been in musicals, including playing the titular role in "Dear Evan Hansen," the first Black actor to do so full-time on Broadway. He also performed in "Hamilton," as well as Fox's "Rent: Live" and "Grease: Live!"

Fisher's television appearances include CW's "The Flash," and Netflix movies "To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You" and "Work It." Recently, Fisher had a voice role as Robaire, a member of the fictional boy band "4*Town," in Pixar's "Turning Red."
Fisher won ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" in 2017 and was a judge on "Dancing with the Stars: Juniors" in 2018.
In 2021, country artist Jimmie Allen performed the national anthem.
Fisher will join a pre-race musical lineup that includes "Voice" winners Girl Named Tom performing "America the Beautiful" and Jim Cornelison singing "(Back Home Again in) Indiana."
“The national anthem is a signature pre-race moment, and Jordan is ready to welcome fans back to Indianapolis Motor Speedway with a memorable and emotional performance at the Racing Capital of the World,” IMS President Doug Boles said in the press release.
The race is scheduled to begin at 12:45 p.m., according to IMS.
