Actress Paz De La Huerta Sues Disney Bosses Bob Iger & Michael Eisner Over Weinstein Assaults
Actress Paz De La Huerta just made good on her threat to sue Harvey Weinstein again for sexual assault, but this time she also takes aim at two Disney bosses, one current and one former.
According to the lawsuit obtained by The Blast, Paz claims that Weinstein was in charge at Miramax in 2010 when she was allegedly assaulted, and that Weinstein's behavior should have been dealt with by Disney, whose CEO at the time was Michael Einser.
"Eisner made a series of decisions that allowed a range of actions by Harvey Weinstein that unacceptably harmed certain employees of Miramax." the documents claim.
Paz also claims Bob Iger, who has been CEO of Disney since 2005, made certain decisions that "allowed" Weinstein the ability to cause harm to employees.
"Following the departure of Harvey and Robert Weinstein from their positions as executives of Miramax in 2005, Iger made no effort to identify or remediate harms by Harvey Weinstein to current or former employees of Disney-Miramax," the actress writes.
Miramax which no longer exists, was acquired by The Walt Disney Company is 1993 for $60 Million.
Paz claims she lost her job on her hit TV show, saying "termination occurred while she was receiving wide spread acclaim for her role in Boardwalk Empire."
The actress is also claiming she has incurred "medical and physiological expenses."
Paz actually believes Weinstein had immoral feelings for her, starting with she was just 14 years old, claiming in the documents, "Harvey Weinstein developed an immoral and unwholesome interest in her sexually when she was 14 years of age and that she experienced disturbing and sexual interest from him commencing at that time in 1999 and continuing through at least 2011."
After the Weinstein issue arose, Paz claims she lost $5 million in income, and believes her career was harmed by a value of over $55 million.
A rep for The Walt Disney Company tells The Blast, "The Weinsteins operated and managed their business with virtual autonomy. There is absolutely no legal basis for claims against the company and we will defend against them vigorously."
