Adam Levine shares whether he will return to 'The Voice'

Adam Levine is not looking in the rearview mirror.

The Maroon 5 frontman revealed on his Instagram Story Tuesday that the odds of him returning as a coach on the "The Voice" are highly unlikely.

When a fan urged Levine to "come back to 'The Voice,'" Levine replied, "No thank you."

Levine, an original coach since the show's 2011 debut, departed from the hit NBC singing competition after 16 seasons in 2019. He was replaced by Gwen Stefani.

Following his departure, the official "Voice" Twitter account explained that the choice was Levine's and left the door open for a return.

"We're going to miss Adam, but 'The Voice' is family and with family it's 'see you soon,' never 'goodbye.' " But it appears Levine is closing the door on that chapter for good.

During his tenure as coach, Levine reigned victorious three times: Season 1 winner Javier Colon, Season 5 winner Tessanne Chin and Season 9 winner Jordan Smith.

Levine was known for his playful feud with frenemy and fellow coach Blake Shelton, who he was sure to poke fun at during the same Q&A session on Tuesday.

A fan asked Levine, "Do you think Blake also being (named) the sexiest man alive was a People downgrade?"

Levine responded with a red 100% emoji.

In 2019, Levine stopped by "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" to share that he's been spending a lot more time with his new family following his departure from "The Voice."

Although he says he missed the show, Levine added that he doesn't "miss how much I had to work."

"'I was constantly working for so many years - very lucky, very fortunate, very blessed and all that," he told Ellen. "Just to be able to stop in this moment to spend time with my new young family and just have the greatest time ever. Now I’m just, like, a stay-at-home dad. I just stay home and do very little. It’s great."
