Addison Rae, Anitta and Lisa Give Bridalwear-inspired Outfits Edgy Twists for MTV VMAs 2024
Anitta is no stranger to making an edgy arrival on the red carpet, including her appearance on Wednesday at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards. The Brazilian superstar arrived at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, in a white lingerie-inspired ensemble that blurred the lines between high fashion and bold statement dressing. Anitta’s outfit channeled bridal vibes while firmly keeping her signature sultry aesthetic in the spotlight.
The singer’s look featured an intricate corset top that was laced up and sculpted, giving a nod to vintage lingerie. The structured bodice was complemented by sheer panels. The high slit in the accompanying draped skirt revealed thigh-high stockings. Topping off the look was a matching white veil, delicately draped over her shoulders, that trailed behind her as she walked.

Anitta completed her striking ensemble with a chocker and stacked bangles from Suzanne Kalan, allowing the outfit to be the star. She wore silver strappy heels, which peeked out from beneath the long train, and her hair was kept sleek and straight, cascading down her back.
The singer’s red carpet look set the tone for what is bound to be an exciting night. Anitta is nominated for two awards: Best Latin Song, where she holds two nods for “Mil Veces” and her collaboration with Peso Pluma, “BELLAKEO,” as well as Best Editing for “Mil Veces.” With her upcoming performance at the VMAs, her bold fashion choices only serve to amplify the anticipation.
Anitta wasn’t the only star embracing bridal-inspired fashion on the red carpet.
Addison Rae made a bold statement in a white satin bra and panty set with scalloped trim by Miss Claire Sullivan. To elevate the look from boudoir to the stage, Rae added a dramatic tulle bustle that fanned out behind her like a swan, while feathers cascaded from both her bra and the bustle, giving the ensemble a theatrical touch.
Blackpink’s Lisa, who attended solo for her “Rockstar” nomination, fully embodied the title in her head-turning outfit. She arrived in a floor-length nude Mugler gown, featuring built-in gloves and a draped hood that added a dreamy, ethereal vibe. Peeking through the delicate peach layers was an architectural nude corset, accentuated with metallic embellishments along the neckline. Lisa’s standout look mirrored the fierce competition in the Best K-Pop category, where she’s up against heavyweights like Stray Kids, New Jeans, Tomorrow x Together, NCT Dream, and Jungkook.
Camila Cabello also took a bridal approach but with a darker edge. The singer opted for a sheer black lace gown by Tony Ward Couture, paired with a matching veil, channeling a gothic bride aesthetic. To complete the transformation, Cabello ditched her blonde locks in favor of her signature dark brunette hair, adding even more drama to her striking red carpet moment.
The MTV VMAs recognize the year’s best music videos, artists and songs. Megan Thee Stallion makes her hosting debut during the 2024 ceremony, held at the UBS Stadium in Elmont, New York on Sept. 11. Katy Perry will receive the honorary Video Vanguard Award, while performers include Sabrina Carpenter, Lenny Kravitz, Eminem and Karol G.
