Adele calls herself 'single' after being linked to rapper Skepta
Adele says she is “single” — despite what you may have read.
On Wednesday, the internet was abuzz over a report the songstress, 32, is dating rapper Skepta, 38, and things between them are “heating up.” That led the "Set Fire to the Rain" singer to share a message on social media about her relationship status — and how she’s taking a break from the rumor mill that is social media until 2021.
Along with a photo of herself looking fabulous as host of Saturday Night Live over the weekend, she wrote on Instagram, “Had the best time on SNL! Thank you to the most wonderful cast, crew, writers and producers. What a sublime bunch of people you are,” name-checking Lorne Michaels, Lindsay Shookus and Maya Rudolph. “I did it for the joy of it and I hope you got some from it too!”

The British songstress wished America “good luck” with the Nov. 3 election as well as a happy Halloween, signing off by saying, “I’m going back to my cave now to be the (single) cat lady that I am! Peace out til next year.”
Her post declaring her singleness came hours after People magazine reported she is “dating rapper and fellow Brit Skepta” (real name: Joseph Junior Adenuga). A source close to Adele reportedly told the magazine, "Things have been heating up" in recent months. “They run in the same circles in London, and she's having fun."
The pair, both from the neighborhood of Tottenham, London, have been linked for more than a year. What is known is that they have been friends for years and are both parents to young children. Hers is 8-year-old Angelo with ex-husband Simon Konecki, whom she split with in 2019; he is father to a nearly 2-year-old.
While Adele has been largely out of the spotlight professionally, there has been a lot of attention on her amid a post-divorce body transformation. In January, she told a fan she lost about 100 pounds — and addressed her weight loss on SNL.
"I know I look really, really different since you last saw me,” she quipped. "But actually, because of all the COVID restrictions... I had to travel light and I could only bring half of me. And this is the half I chose."
Despite not having an album to promote, Adele showed off her comedy chops hosting the sketch show for the first time — after appearing twice previously as musical guest.
