Adele Shares Snapshots of Project That Made Her Wonder If She Missed Her ‘True Calling’

Adele discovered a new talent while working on a project that aimed to poke fun at tabloid coverage of her recent activities.

The 16-time Grammy Award winner posted the results of her efforts in a five-part Instagram carousel that she shared with fans on Thursday, Sept. 5.

“After years of putting up with the tabloids, I decided to join in on the fun and create my own for the Munich shows,” the “Rolling in the Deep” hitmaker explained. Each of the five images, which were designed to look like the cover of a tabloid, were created by the singer herself as she progressed through the weeks of her August residency at Messe München in Munich, Germany.

“When I tell you it was a highlight of my week to write and create these every Sunday after the shows…I think I missed my true calling!” she wrote in her Instagram caption. “A friendly piss take on myself and the real ones! Truly, it is so much fun writing absolute nonsense! ??.”

Adele, 36, seemingly created a fake tabloid called The Saturn Times for her prank on the media, with real photos from her time in Germany and anecdotes from her concerts added in. The “Someone Like You” singer also included genuine messages of thanks to her team in a section that she labeled the “Saturn Spotlight” and penned short “Editor’s Note” messages for her fans.

Many people applauded Adele’s efforts in the post’s comment section, with some declaring her the “only trustworthy news source!!! ?????????.”

“The tea is pipin’ hot!!????,” her makeup artist, Anthony Nguyen, joked.

“BRILLIANT ??????,” The Kardashians star Kris Jenner wrote.

Adele’s playful jab at the tabloids followed her recent announcement that she plans to take an indefinite hiatus from music after wrapping up her final series of scheduled shows in Las Vegas, Nev., this fall. Weekends with Adele, her ongoing residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, began in November 2022. Her final run of 10 shows begins in late October and is scheduled to conclude on Nov. 23.
