Adult film star Ron Jeremy charged with rape, sexual assault
Ron Jeremy has been charged with multiple counts of sexual assault, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office announced on Tuesday. He’s accused of raping three women and assaulting a fourth in separate incidents dating back to 2014. Jeremy, 67, is one of the most well-known figures in the adult entertainment industry.
Jeremy, real name Ronald Jeremy Hyatt, was charged with three counts each of forcible rape and forcible penetration by a foreign object and one count each of forcible oral copulation and sexual battery. The case was filed for warrant on Monday.
Prosecutors allege Jeremy forcibly raped a 25-year-old woman at a home in West Hollywood in May 2014. Jeremy allegedly sexually assaulted two women, ages 33 and 46, on separate occasions at a West Hollywood bar in 2017. He is also accused of forcibly raping a 30-year-old woman at the same bar in July 2019. The D.A.’s office noted it investigated another incident involving Jeremy from 2016 but declined the case due to insufficient evidence.
Yahoo Entertainment reached out to Jeremy's manager, Dante Rusciolelli, for comment who replied on Tuesday afternoon his company is dropping the porn star as a client.
“We hope that these allegations against [Ron] are not true, but if they are, we hope that he is prosecuted,” Rusciolelli noted.
Arraignment is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon in Los Angeles. Prosecutors are recommending $6.6 million bail. The famed porn star faces a possible maximum sentence of 90 years to life in state prison if convicted as charged.
Sexual misconduct allegations against Jeremy have been whispered about for years. Many disturbing claims resurfaced in 2017 amid the #MeToo movement. Jeremy maintained he “never raped anyone” in a lengthy rebuttal to Rolling Stone.
Last week, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office announced it brought charges against Danny Masterson. The That ’70s Show star is accused of forcibly raping three women in separate incidents between 2001 and 2003.
Jeremy tweeted on Tuesday afternoon he’s “innocent of all charges.”
I am innocent of all charges. I can’t wait to prove my innocence in court! Thank you to everyone for all the support.
