Late Adult Film Star Sophia Leone’s Cause Of Death Revealed
Adult film actress Sophia Leone was found dead in her New Mexico home on March 1. Nearly six months later, Albuquerque police have confirmed her cause of death as an accidental overdose.
TMZ reports that officers deemed Leone’s death as “suspicious” and “unique” upon discovering her body, with her mother confirming to police that the late porn star often drank heavily and battled suicidal thoughts. No signs of bodily trauma were found and it remains unclear exactly what substances caused the accidental OD.
The 26-year-old was well known in her field thanks to features from prominent porn studios such as Brazzers, Reality Kings and Evil Angel. She also starred in over 150 films.
A GoFundMe was also set up on her behalf following her death, which described her passing as “sudden.”
“It is with a heavy heart that I have to Share the news of our beloved Sophia’s Passing,” reads the donation page. “The Sudden loss of Sophia has left her family and Friends devastated and in Shock, on top of The difficult process of grieving and Seeking Justice for Sophia, the family is also facing the Financial burden that they were not prepared for… Sophia without question deserves the absolute best memorial and you can help us. Any donation no matter the amount will go straight towards the costs associated with the investigation, Funeral Expense’s, and any other costs that may arise as the family works through this heartbreak.”
Since its creation, Leone’s GoFundMe has received just over $14K in donations.
