Aerosmith permanently shelves farewell tour due to singer's vocal injury

Aerosmith has put the brakes on their "Peace Out" farewell tour due to ongoing troubles plaguing lead singer Steven Tyler's vocal cords.

The band announced its decision in an Instagram post, stating, "We have made a heartbreaking and difficult, but necessary, decision — as a band of brothers — to retire from the touring stage."

Aerosmith has retired from touring permanently due to vocal-cord issues suffered by frontman Steven Tyler, left. The band was scheduled to come to the Schottenstein Center in January 2025.

The tour, which was to be Aerosmith's swan song from working on the road, was scheduled to stop at the Schottenstein Center in January 2025. The upcoming date was rescheduled from 2024, when the tour was paused after Tyler fractured his larynx.

The social media post also assured fans who purchased tickets through Ticketmaster that they will be automatically refunded. Those who bought tickets on third-party resale sites such as SeatGeek, StubHub and Vivid Seats should reach out to those merchants.

Aerosmith's statement concluded, "A final thank you to you — the best fans on planet Earth. Play our music loud, now and always. Dream On. You’ve made our dreams come true."
