akloh. kicks off August with new release, Streets Soprano and Ashford prep for upcoming records: Buffalo Music Monthly
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The month of August saw three Buffalo artists gearing up for record releases, with akloh. putting out his debut release on Aug. 4, the band Ashford releasing a new single on Aug. 16 and Streets Soprano hosting a release event on Aug. 21.

akloh.
akloh. put out three singles at the beginning of the month as part of his first-ever release, “anthology part i: the world’s most dangerous man,” which is packed with infectious melodies, powerful riffs and solid production.
Though the rock genre as a whole has tended to lean toward a more alternative sound in recent years, akloh.’s release captures the peppy and determined energy of classic pop-rock. In just three singles, he tells the tale of desire, love and heartbreak. Producer and Fernway frontman RJ DeMarco features on the release’s second single, “Little Mama.” akloh. will be performing at 6 p.m. in Buskers Alley B at this year’s Music is Art Festival.
Ashford
Ashford’s newest song, “Gorilla Glue,” released Aug. 16 as the band’s second single off the forthcoming record “Pictures of Places I’ve Been.” The song is the follow-up to their July single “The Painter & the Patient.”
“Gorilla Glue” features a powerful guitar presence with the band’s signature heavy sound. In addition to strong vocals from lead singer Nathan Kohler, Ashford’s background vocals fill the void for a blend that allows listeners to feel the emotion behind the track and the suffering described in the song’s lyrics. The band will be having its album release show at Mohawk Place on Oct. 11, with tickets available at this link.
Streets Soprano
Streets Soprano celebrated his upcoming record, “U Hear Me 2: They Fear What They Not Know,” with a release event last week, previewing what’s to come. Though no specific date has been announced for the release, Streets has been teasing the record as coming soon.
Streets shouts out his love for Buffalo in “Enough of My Own,” one of the strongest tracks on the record. “U Hear Me 2” contains a good mix of tempos, a range demonstrated well by songs like “Hustlers Change” and “If You Go, I Won’t Stop You.” Overall, Streets takes a more aggressive approach, asserting how he feels on the record. Streets Soprano will be playing Terminal B Stage 2 at 9 p.m. at this year’s Music is Art Festival.
