Alan Cumming returns to host AARP The Magazine’s annual Movies for Grownups Awards on January 11, 2025
Alan Cumming, the charming Tony-winning, Emmy-winning host of the Peacock competition series “The Traitors,” will return as host of the AARP the Magazine’s 23rd annual Movies for Grownups Awards at a ceremony in Beverly Hills on January 11, 2025. The star-studded event recognizes the best TV, films and filmmakers of 2024, including Best Movie for Grownups, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director, Best Screenwriter, Best Ensemble and more.
The Career Achievement honor is the evening’s highest award, won last year by Jamie Lee Curtis (who went on to win the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress as well). Among those previously honored have been George Clooney, Helen Mirren, Michael Douglas, Shirley MacLaine, Morgan Freeman, Kevin Costner, Susan Sarandon, Robert Redford, Sharon Stone and Robert De Niro. The Career Achievement honoree and and the Movies for Grownups nominees will be announced at a later date.
