Album Premiere: Hear Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, and Other Dove Award Winners on 'Beatitudes Project'
The Beatitudes Project is a multi-platform work composed of a book, all-star album and powerful documentary film inspired by a rock star’s two decades of world travel, and his encounters with extreme wealth and even greater poverty – both physical and emotional.
Grammy-nominated musician and producer Stu Garrard’s life-changing encounters with survivors of prostitution, addiction and trafficking, his relationships with peacemakers on both sides of the Palestinian/Israeli conflict, his time with refugees fleeing their homes and communities in Syria, and for all of those who’ve had the power of choice and equality stripped away from them, inspired him to create the project with a eye towards compassion.
He gathered a like-minded group of celebrated artists, including Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, Martin Smith, Matt Maher, Audrey Assad, John Mark McMillan and Amanda Cook to help him bring this vision to life. Yahoo Music is excited to debut the full album for fans to hear this extraordinary work, which took more than a decade to bring to fruition.
Grant was particularly touched by participating in the project. In this video, she discusses her experience writing and performing for Garrard’s vision.
