Alex Trebek hints at retirement from 'Jeopardy' and possible successors

All good things must come to an end.

In an interview with Harvey Levin on TMZ’s show Objectified, Alex Trebek, who has hosted Jeopardy for 34 years, hinted at an end to his tenure.

When asked by Levin about the odds that he’ll continue with the show after his contract ends in 2020, Trebek said “50-50 and a little less.”

It’s clear that Trebek has been thinking about the end of his tenure on the show. He said he has even mentioned a possible replacement to the producers. That would be Alex Faust, the play-by-play announcer for the Los Angeles Kings. He recently replaced Hall Fame NHL announcer Bob Miller.

Levin asked Trebek about a potential female replacement, and the game show host mentioned CNN legal analyst Laura Coates, who gleefully reacting on Twitter.

Trebek’s departure is not set in stone, so for now, we can be sure to tune in to Jeopardy every night and see Trebek hosting the show.
