Sami Brady is returning to Days of Our Lives.
Actress Alison Sweeney, who has played the scheming soap villainess on and off for decades, is reprising her role on the long-running daytime drama. A spokesperson for Sweeney told Entertainment Weekly on Tuesday that she is "excited to be back in Salem for a few days."
It's unclear how many episodes Sweeney will be on, and a representative for the show didn't immediately respond to EW's request for comment.
According to TV Insider, which first reported the news, Sweeney is filming the Peacock sudser now, and viewers will see the results in 2025.
"I was thrilled to be invited to return," she told the outlet. "I love playing Sami and I am always happy for the chance to come back. We always have to figure out scheduling and such, but if at all possible, I'm so glad to make it happen."
Sweeney first portrayed Sami in 1993, and she remained on the show until 2014. The daughter of Deidre Hall's Marlena Evans, Sami is known for being manipulative and doing whatever it takes to get what she wants.
Over the past decade, Sweeney has returned several times, with her having stormed out of her last appearance, in 2022. This time, she teased that her storyline is "unexpected."
"I have to tell you, of all the ideas," Sweeney told TV Insider, "I was pretty shocked."
