Alt In Our Stars Podcast 2/27: Andrew McMahon Talks ‘In the Wilderness,’ Jack’s Mannequin, and Something Corporate
For over a decade, Andrew McMahon has been one of rock and pop’s most talented, all-round good guys. In late 2014, he left the major label game and his Jack’s Mannequin moniker to release his self-titled debut as Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, a sparkling, breath-of-fresh-air piano pop record. He stopped by Billboard’s weekly rock and alternative podcast to fill us in on what he’s been up to lately.

McMahon says he is gearing up to play Coachella and his songwriting role in NBC’s Smash helped lead to the first ever theatrical adaptation of his music. That’s right, McMahon made it to Broadway. He was also down to talk about his past bands (Jack’s Mannequin, Something Corporate) and spoke about how he’s kept up with other alumni of the defunct pop-punk label Drive-Thru Records, like Bleachers‘ Jack Antonoff and Cobra Starship’s Gabe Saporta.
