Aly Raisman Jokes Her Parents Are ‘A Lot More Relaxed’ at Paris Games 8 Years After Going Viral for Anxiously Watching Her Compete
Lynn and Rick Raisman have watched their daughter compete at two Olympic Games, and went viral in 2016 for their nervous reactions
Aly Raisman's parents have been to three Olympic Games — but they might be actually enjoying themselves for the first time in Paris.
On Monday, July 29, the six-time Olympic medalist, 30, shared a carousel of photos on Instagram of her parents Lynn and Rick Raisman enjoying festivities during the Summer Games in Paris.
The trio smiled in the stands in coordinated outfits in the first photo, each wearing their own rendition of red white and blue.
In the second photo, Lynn and Rick were dressed in eveningwear and each held a cocktail as they posed on a balcony with a lit-up Eiffel Tower featuring Olympic rings in the background.

"Update… my parents are a lot more relaxed this time," Raisman joked in the caption.
The athlete and children's book author made her Olympic debut at the 2012 London Games, where she was a member of the team dubbed the "Fierce Five."
Her caption referenced her parents' viral reactions during her second trip to the Olympics, this time in the 2016 Rio Games alongside her then-teammate Simone Biles.
In the stands, Rick and Lynn put on a show of their own every time they watched Aly compete. Their nervous winces, screams of encouragement and desire that their daughter "stick it" on her landings first caught fans' attention at the London Games and carried over to her Olympic comeback.

Their nervousness was palpable through the screen as they appeared to move their body with her a every movement, especially when she was competing on the uneven bars.
“We have no idea we’re even moving when we’re in the stands, we’re so caught up in the moment," Rick told Today in 2016 when discussing their viral reactions.
“I tell Aly I’m more famous than her!" he added.
But Lynn and Rick are relaxing eight years after the Rio Games, soaking up the Paris experience with Raisman by their side since Raisman is not competing this year.
Raisman even posted a photo to her Instagram Stories on Sunday, July 28, of her parents walking the streets of Paris hand-in-hand ahead of her. She included a heart emoji over the photo.
After retiring ahead of the 2020 Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo, Aly made her debut as an ESPN commentator in January.
