EXCLUSIVE: American Pie actress Alyson Hannigan, Nicole Grimaudo (Loose Cannons), Kim Coates (Sons of Anarchy, Godless), Jonathan Roumie (The Chosen), Julee Cerda (Vacation Friends 2) and Julie Ann Emery (Hitch) are boarding the Kevin James romantic comedy Solo Mio.

In Solo Mio, Matt (James)’s fiancé has dreamed of a wedding in Italy. He saves up and flies his whole family over for the wedding and has even booked a lavish honeymoon after. When his fiancé stands him up at the altar, he is forced to go on his honeymoon alone, thrusting him into the beautiful culture of Italy and renewing his passion for life and food. Along the way he meets Gia, who reminds Matt that love and happiness is a reality.

Hannigan will portray a twice-divorced woman who is on her third honeymoon with the same man.

The Nickel City Features and Jeffrey Greenstein’s A Higher Standard feature is shooting in Rome based on the script by Patrick Kinnane and John Kinnane and directed by Chuck Kinnane and Dan Kinnane. James, Mark Fasano and Greenstein are producing. Pic is written by Patrick Kinnane & John Kinnane and Kevin James.

The project marks the second collaboration between James, Nickel City Pictures, and A Higher Standard, after Playdate finsihed principal photography earlier this year.

Hannigan’s previous film credits include Universal’s American Pie franchise, one of the highest grossing comedy film franchises of all time. Most recently on the film side, she starred alongside Ben Schwartz in the Disney+ film Flora & Ulysses. Hannigan’s television credits include starring in the Emmy nominated CBS hit How I Met Your Mother and the critically acclaimed series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Last year, Hannigan emerged as a fan favorite and placed fifth on Disney + and ABC hit, Dancing with the Stars.
