'The Real' co-host Amanda Seales says registered sex offender Anthony Weiner shouldn't be allowed in son's school
Things got, well, real on The Real during a discussion about Anthony Weiner.
Weiner is in the news again after it was reported that he’s petitioning his son’s school to allow him in the building — something he’s not currently permitted to do because he was forced to register as a sex offender after pleading guilty in 2017 to a charge of transferring obscene material to a minor.
The former congressman was caught exchanging explicit texts with a 15-year-old, and served 18 months of a 24-month prison sentence.
Co-host Amanda Seales weighed in on Weiner’s petition, saying it was a clear case of white privilege at play.
“I just think that ‘caucasity’ always has a lot of audacity,” she said. “The level of privilege involved!”
She continued, “I cannot even imagine how he thinks, ‘You know what? Why can’t I?’ It’s over, bro.”
Fellow panelist Adrienne Houghton noted, “Some people say he’s done his time,” to which Seales shouted, “No! No! No!”
Houghton agreed with Seales.
“You did the wrong thing. You no longer can be around children,” she said.
Tamera Mowry-Housley agreed with her two co-hosts, saying “Sexual offenders in general — when you do that to a person they have to carry on that for the rest of their lives, so you know what? You have to deal with the consequences for the rest of your life.”
Viewers on Twitter weighed in on Seales’s comments, and some said she was spot-on:
I love the new host at the (Real) yes finally yes finally we have someone who don’t care to speak their mind and tell the truth .. (Amanda Seales ) Keep speaking the truth ..Thank you

@TheRealDaytime Amanda is a genius. Her remark about Weiner’s caucacity breeding audacity(I’m paraphrasing ) was fire.

But others said Seales was off-base by bringing race into the conversation:
Today Amanda referred to Anthony Weiner’s desire for more access to his child’s school as the “audacity”of “caucasity”. He’s a damn sex offender whatever his color. Seales leans into divisiveness often which shows her own internal issues with race. Not a good look for her. https://t.co/R7dNRpaR7e

During a discussion today about pedophillic ex-Congressman #AnthonyWeiner, @amandaseales referred to Weiner’s recent actions by saying, “Caucasity has audacity.”
Wtf, Amanda? It wasn’t about race; it was about a pedophile trying to gain access to a school.#ratingskillerseales pic.twitter.com/FlFf71nebJ— Metal Mixtress ? (@Metal_Mlxtress) February 18, 2020
