The Amazing Race is back for your enjoyment. The reality competition show first aired in 2001 and, over 20 years later, contestants are still signing up in search of the $1 million prize.

The race is split into legs, where contestants receive clues and must navigate around foreign countries to complete physically and mentally challenging tasks. If they’re the last one to make it to their final destination for that leg, they could be eliminated. New for this season, CBS has announced that there is not going to be any non-elimination legs of the competition; though there are megalegs that may span two episodes before eliminating a team. If they can persevere, the final team will earn the seven-figure sum in the end.

The Amazing Race season 33 was unique compared to the dozens before it. Filming was shut down early on in production due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, there was a positive that came out of the way the show now works.

"... I think one of the best things that came out of all of this is we literally got our own plane — a plane that says The Amazing Race on it. And that was for all of us. For years, we’ve all been talking about wouldn’t it be great if we didn’t have to line up in airports and wouldn’t it be great if we didn’t have to go through all these crazy security procedures. To get on a plane that was a bit of a game changer, I’ve got to be honest with you," Phil told Entertainment Weekly.

We’re ready to break out our passports (figuratively, of course) for a new season. Here is everything we know about The Amazing Race season 34.

When is next The Amazing Race season 34 episode?

The next leg of The Amazing Race season 34 continues on Wednesday, October 19, at 10 pm ET/PT on CBS. This latest episode, "The Amazing Race of Arabia," marks a first for the reality series in its 20-plus year history: staging a challenge in the Kingdom of Jordan.

Here is what to expect with this latest leg of The Amazing Race:

"For the first time in Amazing Race history, teams travel to the Kingdom of Jordan. They will ride a train and experience a scene reminiscent of the 1963 Oscar-winning film Lawrence of Arabia, search the Wadi Rum desert and visit the ancient city of Petra."

The Amazing Race shares CBS Wednesday nights with Survivor season 43 and the new reality series The Real Love Boat.

Episodes stream live on Paramount Plus for Premier tier subscribers and are available on-demand via Paramount Plus the day after airing for all subscribers.

The Amazing Race does not air in the UK at this time, though they have a similar show, Race Across the World.
