More from Deadline
Follow Me is a dark thriller described as Heathers meets The Stepford Wives at a mommy influencer retreat in Northern California. It’s a propulsive and witty novel, mixed with the scary social-commentary edge of Black Mirror.
Chelsea Bradshaw and Jessica Pugh are overseeing the project for Kroll & Co.
Deal marks the start of 100 Tigers, a new production company formed by Lim and Cucukov. Lim’s work includes Joyride, Crazy Rich Asians and Raya and the Last Dragon, while Cucukov’s credits include The Baby-Sitters Club and Manhunt. The duo said their new shingle is all about “fostering and empowering artists and projects that share our passion for female-forward, cross-cultural stories with global appeal and a glossy edge.”
A Malaysian native of Chinese descent, Lim came to the U.S. at 19 and graduated from Emerson College in Boston. She has worked as a TV writer-producer on primetime network dramas, including One Tree Hill and Lethal Weapon, during which she ran writers rooms, developed and sold multiple series and was co-showrunner of Starcrossed for the CW. She transitioned to feature film, and mentors emerging writers through the WGA, CAPE (Coalition of Asian-Americans and Pacific Islanders in Entertainment) and AMPAS to promote equity and representation in entertainment. Joy Ride marked her directorial debut.
Follow Me will be the first project that 100 Tigers has set at a studio. The team has several projects in the development pipeline they’ll announce when the moment is right.
Verve reps author Elizabeth Quinn and held the auction; Paradigm and attorney Lev Ginsburg rep Lim; and Paradigm and Ginsburg and Sean Marks rep 100 Tigers.
