‘America’s Got Talent’s’ fan-fave quick-change artist Solange Kardinaly finishes in 4th place: See finale results

One of the most viral seasons of “America’s Got Talent” in recent memory has come to an end. Did you correctly predict the finale results? Quick-change artist Solange Kardinaly came into finale night with enormous online support, but she failed to eke out a victory and actually finished in fourth place. Instead, singer Richard Goodall, an inspirational school janitor from Indiana, was named the winner of Season 19. (Watch our interview with Richard right here.)

As for the rest of the Top 5, comedian Learnmore Jonasi placed fifth, drone group Sky Elements placed third, and dog act Roni Sagi & Rhythm was the runner-up. The finale results were announced by host Terry Crews at the end of the September 24 episode in front of a live studio audience and judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara and Howie Mandel.

The other five acts in the bottom of the “AGT” finale, based on America’s votes, were air-dance group AIRFOOTWORKS, dance crew Brent Street, singer Dee Dee Simon, acrobatic group Hakuna Matata Acrobats, and aerial duo Sebastián & Sonia.

During the Finals performance show, Solange delivered arguably her best routine to date when she quick-changed her clothes multiple times while performing various magic tricks. It all led to the moment where she flew up into the air and became engulfed in white confetti. The judges praised her as being “incredible, incredible, incredible” and the “most beautiful magician” ever, and they predicted she would one day “have her own room in Las Vegas.”

Previously on “America’s Got Talent,” three magicians won it all: Season 9’s Mat Franco, Season 13’s Shin Lim, and Season 16’s Dustin Tavella. As for former quick-change contestants, some of the most memorable ones were Season 1’s David & Dania, Season 11’s Sos & Victoria, and Season 16’s Lea Kyle.

Ankton Batesta: “If it was best on only talent, then Solange deserves to win. However, Richard represents so much that everyone neutral person would wish him to win.”

Meryl Weisman: “If ever AGT were to have a tie for first place/winner, this season would be it! A tie between Solange and Richard Goodall, with the dog act ‘nipping at their heels,’ would not surprise me at all! Best wishes to all these talented competitors!”

Ray Ploen: “The final 2 should be Solange and the comedian. Definite Vegas acts. Richard for 3rd place. So many deserving acts.”

Barbara Richardson: “I would definitely like to see the quick change artist win. She is fantastic!”
