Did 'American Idol' replace Ryan Seacrest as its host?
American Idol pranked some viewers Sunday night when The Bachelor host Chris Harrison opened the show.
He didn’t quite nail Ryan Seacrest’s famous “This. Is American Idol,” delivery, though, so Seacrest popped in to demonstrate how it’s done. But if you think that Seacrest is grooming Harrison to take over for him, don’t be fooled. When Harrison tried it again, he stated, “This … is April Fools’.”
Turns out, some people actually fell for the joke!

Some fans were not OK with Harrison on Seacrest’s turf:
Wait a second, Chris Harrison, go back to the Bachelor. American Idol is only for @RyanSeacrest

One person actually supported the idea.
Yea… I kinda can get behind Chris Harrison hosting the #americanidol live shows while all this Seacrest crap is happening. #delayedviewing

But despite Seacrest’s ongoing battle with sexual harassment allegations, it was just an April Fools’ prank.
