Amish Stud: 4 Things We Can’t Unsee From the Lifetime Movie Starring Luke Macfarlane and Kirsten Vangsness

“Amish Stud” isn’t just the eye-catching name of the Lifetime TV movie starring Luke Macfarlane, which premiered on Saturday. It’s also the moniker that the film’s subject, Eli Weaver, used in real life to lure women into sleeping with him.

Adapted from the true crime book A Killing in Amish Country: Sex, Betrayal and a Cold-Blooded Murder (by Gregg Olsen and Rebecca Morris), Amish Stud: The Eli Weaver Story follows the true story of Weaver, a philandering husband who rocked his conservative Amish community by conspiring with his mistress Barb Raber (Criminal Minds‘ Kirsten Vangsness) to murder his wife Barbara Weaver (The Flash’s Miranda MacDougall).

The film featured its fair share of unforgettable one-liners, like Macfarlane as Eli ordering Barb to pull her vehicle over because “I got something I want to give you and it can’t wait another second.” Plus, we’re still reeling from that unexpectedly upbeat ending in which Eli, after being sentenced to 15 years for complicity to commit murder, flirted with the commissary clerk to get a free snack.

With that said, here are the four memorable moments from the Lifetime movie that we just can’t unsee.

THAT kitchen scene

We’re not ones to kink-shame, but Eli’s Christian Grey act in the kitchen felt supremely awkward since he tried to coerce his wife Barbara, who was visibly uncomfortable by his explicit request and couldn’t bring herself to go through with it.

“Who wants to do an Amish guy?”

“Who wants to do an Amish guy?”

We’re baffled at how this cringey opener on a dating app led to so many hookups.

Eli’s chilling stare while his wife and child slept is one that will stay with us. It’s the look of a killer.

Technically, this has nothing to do with the TV-movie’s content. But as several readers pointed out, the actor’s facial hair combined with that white tank makes a strong case for him to star as the adamantium-clawed mutant in the next X-Men project.
